My letter to Southern Gothic Production team

Well, here it is. Another blog. Southern Gothic inspired me to create one. I will share some of my thoughts with you guys. The first is my letter to Southern Gothic Production team as I send it to Jaclyne for her "Message in the bottle" project, which turned out to be so great. On a side note - English is my second language, so pardon some of the mistakes I might have made. Anyways, enjoy.

Dear SoGoPro team,

my greeting is coming from far over the ocean, small beautiful country in the heart of Europe called Czech Republic. I am pretty sure I am one of the first of your supporters from my country and I am really proud of it. There will be a lot of us in the future, word about your work is spreading fast and more and more supporters are coming every day, which is great. That being said, let’s move on to the point of my letter.

I came across Southern Gothic about a month ago, kind of by accident, but, as many of my current SGP fellows, I instantly fell in love with it. The group of people working together on various projects, any of which is original and interesting. The group of people, which is devoted to create some very promising and great things. From the first moment I laid my eyes on your blog…

Once upon a time, there was this land called SoGoPro. A tired traveler came across the border; anxiously holding on to his mouse, like it was his last tie with the world he knew until he found out about this magical kingdom. Suddenly the gate with the letters S and G finely crafted into its structure appeared before him, out of nowhere. It was right after sunrise, morning mist spreading all over the gate and a wall, hiding some very twisted set of trees behind it. It looked like those trees were always trying to reach with their wooden arms outside, luring more and more travelers in. Indeed, he was scared a little, but the image before him was somewhat… Interesting. Finally, he decided that any risk is worth seeing what’s out there in this famous country. He made few uncertain steps towards the gate. And then another few. After a time, which he would have described like forever, he reached the gate, trying to open it. He was almost sure that it won’t move for it seemed like this gate was very old. Right before he could touch it, the gate opened itself, smoothly and quietly. He took all his courage and walked through… And he never regretted it.

I will try to explain why I like Southern Gothic this much. It’s not only work you do, which is great, of course. It is approach you picked. Informing about all you do throughout your blog/website, making the community feel like they are part of the process and giving them opportunity to add their opinions and even influence you a bit. Friendly atmosphere and this charm of SoGoPro got me to stick around and became a member of a wonderful community.

The best thing about Southern Gothic are the people around it. We have got members from all over the world, talking daily on chat, sharing their passion for art in any form. Book club, SGP radio, photographs, movies. We have got it all and we have you guys to thank you for it. You are an inspiration for each every one of us.

I wish you best luck in your future projects and I am looking forward to seeing those current ones finished.

It’s about passion, it’s about inspiration, it’s about great dedication to let the art talk to us in every day’s life. And we love it.
